Terry – totally agree with everything you say for all the same reasons (blimey!).
Only add is dont think anyone would produce fragile boats because its also not in the boatbuilders interest – will be bad for their reputation if the boat falls apart after a year, especially in a class where people tend to stick around rather than come & go after a year
We did try to get this through as a rule change last yr but also threw in a 1kg weight reduction – that was the really controversial bit – so a rule change just changing max corrector weight probably stands a good chance of going through
