Interesting what you say about beating other classes, I take it you mean on handicap?
I find that the current P.Y.Number of 1107 is a bit hard to sail up to on some courses, particularly when it’s windy and there’s lots of reaching involved.
I guess that’s life, but I have noticed that the proliferation of ‘assymetric classes’ has prompted Clubs to lay on courses that those classes prefer, i.e. multiple broad reaches to get to the bottom mark.
This does us no favours at all! A good beat, two reaches and a run, generally puts us in with a chance, unless there’s enough wind for the lighter classes to plane away early.
I wonder what the recent drop in P.Y. handicap Number was caused by, we cannot all have improved that much!
