the Needlespar ‘blacktop’ is the softest topsection, but the overall stiffness is to do with the hight of the joint in the midsection (where it changes from oval to circular)- you will see the machining in that area.
The higher the joint, the stiffer the mast.
Medium to stiff is about 2600mm from the gooseneck.
Soft is about 2450mm.
The black top section is softer than the blue which again is softer than the red. (All to do with the tube cross section). So, a black top with a low joint is the softest mast…….
