Based on Grafham (I was fast upwind, leading to the ww mark most races on day 1. but very good at swimming downwind) it was pretty hard to get set up perfectly, as it was very gusty and shifty, so I found it best to set up with a big groove to sail to.
The rig was on Nick C’s tuning guide like yours, but the difference from the sounds of things that I did, was I cranked on the outhaul hard and also had a lot of inhaul on too. I could have pulled the cunningham harder, but as it was puffy decided I would pinch more in the gusts rather than constantly moving sail controls.
I sailed finns a lot and we found that the outhaul was the main power source on the sail, so when overpowered this really needed to be cranked on hard! Pulling the inhaul tight pulls the draft and C of E forwards, so reducing helm and meaning you could stear without too much weather helm.
In the big gusts, I cracked the mainsheet an inch when they hit, but got it straight back on after the initial hit so that I could keep height.
