I think that carbon booms and laminated sails are a good idea dispite being cheeper (sails) as it has already ben said, i believe with sexyer looking boats out there, there might be more youth intrest in the class. also the other day i saw a rs700 sailor roll his (laminated) sail up and it took seconds as they are much stiffer than the dacron ones which we all have at the moment, also you don’t get massive crease marks in them so easily. Having laminated sails may give us the oppertunity to get more makers in the sail regon as atm we only really have north and p&b which don’t get me wrong they make great sails but they are all priced way to high, if we got more makers not only would the price go down but each sail would be produced to a very high standard as the maker would want your business again. :roll: (i hope)
