I don’t think the age is important. It’s not like stayed-rig classes where the rig tension depends on the stiffness of the hull, OKs don’t get subjected to those kind of loads. I’d be looking for down to weight, good bottom finish, nice foils, well-matched rig. Can’t beat a good driver though – it’s always that loose nut between the tiller and the mainsheet that causes the problems .

Also, I read somewhere that Finn sailors actually think finns go faster if their boats are a bit flexible and therefore go better when they’re a bit older. Dunno if this is still current thinking or what the logic is. Maybe Robert’ll tell us if he sees this
