I’d definitely second Neil’s suggestion that you should bring your boat: you don’t have to sail all the races if you don’t want to, and I’m sure you’ll learn stacks more doing it than looking at it!
There’s a campsite at South Beach, (Searles) but it’s heavy on facilities and probably pretty pricey. On the other hand it is close, (about 15 mins walk from HSC). There’s much more basic camping at Sandringham (means hanging out with the Queen, dunno how you’d feel about that!) Not so close but it’s a nice campsite in pinewoods. There are loads of caravans at Snettisham Beach and Heacham, might be worth a look if you are coming with a bunch of people.
