Reply To: Anyone in Scotland still sailing?
Well that’s two of us…
Found the Sailor who bought the nice new rudder. He is Sailing at Peterhead Sailing Club (which is a nice place to sail) and currently in need of an alloy mast as his unfortunately snapped (add in wanted section on here).
So even if it is just two of us I mentioned to him about going to same open regatta next year and having an unofficial Scottish OK Championship (got my mind thinking – I wonder what happened to the Scottish trophies as there was a traveller series and Scottish Championship at one point so there must have been trophies).
Anyway not sure where or when yet but maybe Stonehaven or somewhere half way between us. Going to contact Linlithgow as had good advice there is at least one OK sailing there. Not had any news back on the wooden OK at Invergordon but will see (heard when seen it looked a bit sorry for itself but not rotten).
So that’s the news so far. Probs not going to use blue hull I got on ebay so will make it ready to use with basic controls and see if any junior at RTYC would like it on premise it gets used. Got glue (to attach deck) and cleats for orange hull so it should be ready for water in next 2-3 weeks if I can find enough Kevlar and dynema to rig it.
Anyway that’s the Scottish update for now – with me getting closer to having boat on water I am following up my gumtree adds with the letters to clubs to find any more active OK’s or bits (as I planned)
