Week 3: 4 OKs on the water.
After deliberating whether to sail or not cos of the disgusting conditions Dan, Andy, Jake and Robert ventured out in wet, windy and very gusty conditions. Dan led from the start and extended to win overall after a cracking last downwind leg when he horizoned the fleet. Robert held onto second with Andy third and Jake fourth. After the finish Robert’s NZ North sail, ex-Craig, blew out (half the leach ripped out – refund Nick?) so he changed to Quantum and after a poor start eventually overhauled Dan upwind to lead to the finish, only to be beaten by the Solo on handicap.
It’s worth mentioning that after the end of the first race Dan tacked without releasing his sheet and went swimming round his turtled craft for a while. Jake and Andy had sought the shelter of the clubhouse after the first race. JB also put in an appearance but never got as far as even taking his coat off…
