Reply To: OK 1835 for sale on Ebay NO RESERVE National Champ boat 1976
For those curious about what happened to 1835 on ebay, I’m feeling quite lucky in that the auction went my way. I’m now due to collect the boat on Friday, and am hopeful to get it on the water reasonably quickly.
I went to view the boat last week, and found it had been left in the sailing club by a member who had not renewed their membership for several years. Hence it’s been neglected for quite some time, but I think underneath is still a good boat. The fittings look a bit old fashioned now – drum kicker and underdeck controls – but I think everything seemed like it had been put together very carefully and neatly. I can certainly believe it was a quick boat in the past.
Next task for me is to do as good a job as I can getting it back into working order, and then hopefully it will help introduce some new sailors to the class.
