I was rather afraid that might be the answer. I’m wondering if the issue is just to do with the way the slot for the pivot bolt is fashioned and I need to replace a missing packer piece. Anyway I’ll get the tape out and check it all over now. The stuff on the sides is black and has some sort of cloth content so I suspect it is Carbon fibre. It looks like a bit of warmth and a decorators knife should remove it again. It looks nasty anyway so I’m glad of the excuse to lose it. Am I allowed to build up in some other material e.g. laminate some timber veneers onto the area above the controlled line?
Any thoughts on where I might lay hands on a replacement track while at it?
