Reply To: Places at the Worlds
Terry is correct in what he says – book the time off (Nationals July 19th-21st and Worlds July 24th to 29th). We have been offered 16 firm places by OKDIA. In addition to the top 16 qualifiers there are currently 9 people who have said they would like a place. It’s almost certain that we will be able to accommodate these people as we did at Parkstone in 2004 (everyone who wanted to sail did so, although some were given rather short notice!).
We won’t know definitely the number of places we are allocated until the closing date for entries which is May 31st.
If anyone else wants to sail but hasn’t yet E-mailed me please do so ASAP.
The top 16 qualifiers will be notified via E-mail that they definitely have a place today.
It is important that anyone who is in the Worlds team sails in as many of the Open Meetings at sea as possible in order that the GBR team does as well as it can.
I’m still waiting for John Derbyshire to give us a date for a day’s training at Parkstone or Weymouth in June.
