I took no offence as I am sure Bob has the best interests of the UK fleet in mind.
One of the reasons for posting the topic was so that all interested parties could get an understanding of the situation( and hopefuly now they do!!), and thus understand if there is a possibility of them also getting onto the start line.
If I was 40th in the queue then so be it, i would just do the nationals, as it is I have booked the time off work and grovelled with the wife!!( she said yes! wonderful woman that she is)
I have e-mailed Andy and asked to be added to the list and now I have to wait and see, either way I am at the nationals. (and maybe the town drunk for the second week if no place comes up…….)
Its obviously a thorny issue so we should all leave it with the people who give up their time as committee members for the good of the class to decide what they feel is the best way to organiser these things.
As for the buy a boat to compete in the worlds brigade (certainly not me), I am confident that the committee members will ensure that any places that do become available are allocated fairly and in the best interests of the UK fleet as a whole.
There has to be some rules in place and some people may feel hard done to, that I suppose is the nature of such things.
