The sequence of dates in July 2013 looks like this.
Dun Laoghaire Regatta Thursday 11th – Sunday 14th
French OK Nationals (Carnac) Tuesday 16th – Thursday 18th
OK Europeans (Carnac) Saturday 20th – Friday 26th
So, it’d actually be practical to do the DLR and then any of the subsequent major regattas if you wanted. Depending on preference you could probably even take the ferry from the South East of Ireland direct to Roscoff or Cherbourg rather than returning to England and going via Portsmouth.
The DLR could be part of the warm up to Carnac, with or without the French Nationals. I don’t think an event in Ireland will conflict with the French Nationals in any way, so there shouldn’t be a problem trying to organise something on those dates.
