Reply To: Dun Laoghaire Regatta 2013??
I’m a glass half full man but for 2013 it all looks too congested to me. Why not put in a big effort for 2014 when we would have much more time to publicise the event and get commitment. People would also have more time to get leave from work (most people have used up all their entitlement to leave if they are going to Thailand and Carnac as well as the British Nationals in September). If two or three OKs go over to test the water in 2013 as part of the handicap fleet they could report back first hand on the event and we could use that for marketing. In 2014 fewer people are likely to travel from the UK to Poland for the Europeans than are intending to go to Carnac in 2013, so Ireland would make an excellent alternative.
