Great to here from you. You seem to be sailing in a number of different countries with boats from USA and Cananda and writing about both Denmark and Belgium in your email. The OK is truly an International Class!
Yes, I have also tried the idea of gluing 6mm ply to the cockpit floor so it stops just short of the Bulkhead. This was the construction method in my OK GBR 1251 but I have now replaced this floor and used 20mm x 20mm full lenght stringers to stiffen the length of the boat. I am still wondering whether this will be strong enough to carry my weight? I will probably use some glass epoxy on the bottom of the boat but even so I am concerned that after having gone to the trouble of replacing the entire bottom of the boat I could end up damaging the cockpit floor and have to complete even further repairs!
Mind you there is something about building and sailing your own boat.
