1. Perhaps we should post on the forum more of the technical discussions – I may be at fault here as I am new to this game but the discussions were very involved, which bit to publish?
2. I agree with Dave about the pads. Originally they were allowed in addition to the side deck rules because they were soft pads to make life comfortable and the extra 10mm was permitted to make it easy to fit them – but it didn’t matter because it was soft compressible material under discussion.
Rigid side deck extensions, because that is what they are, should not be allowed – there is a perfectly good rule abour the size of side decks – this is just a play on words to allow a cheat. It is not in the spirit or intention of the rules. I think they should be removed. It is nothing to do with whether they are carbon or not – that is not the issue.
3. I still believe we are getting bogged down with discussions about what is a fitting and how it is stuck on. If it is carbon and not on the permitted list – then it is not allowed.
