Hi Wietze,
I remember the Kolhede boats with the traveller on the floor, and they certainly were beautiful. I think the other plus of building them like that was that there was a big piece of wood low in the boat that the traveller was mounted on and that helped to centralise the boat’s weight and make it a little quicker. I think it’s still a really valid layout – just not fashionable at the moment!
