Morning. Quick comment on Svendsens boat. I believe the measurers protested over the size of the backing pads behind station 2. If you were to see and touch the boat I would think you’d be amazed at how an ok could be so soft and flexible in the bow and stern and still conform to the class rule regarding uniformity of the panels. It’s just not possible!! Just my worthless opinion.
Had a pretty good day yesterday despite the usual shitty start! Picked up a few places on every reach to round the last mark mid twenties. Everyone had gone right so thought bugger that and chose the left. Worked well, wasn’t getting headed and saw a big cloud coming down the course and thought if I could tack across the leading edge of it could maybe get a lift on port. Spot on, nice 10-15 degree lift and I was away! Will say that with 100 metres to go to the finish a certain dirty, filthy scumbag Englishman tacked on top of me and covered me to the finish!! I leave it to you to think who that could have been!!!!
30+ knots this morning but we’re hopeful it may drop a bit by this afternoon, don’t want to lose another day. When we have got out its been awesome sailing and bloody difficult if you don’t manage to get into the top group.
Been staying with a few kiwis and a Danish couple and its been brilliant, out for a curry last night which was probably the best I’ve had. Really really looking forward to getting home to the frost, ice, and cold temperatures :roll:
