Reply To: Laminate Sail
When I raised subject I was taken aback somewhat that our European Bretheren seemed to be on the track of pushing anything to make the OK faster regardless of cost. The whole point of a boat like the OK was that to make it go competitivly you just have to have a good nut on the tiller. Not the latest super duper Mylar/Kevlar sail plus high modulus carbon mast plus 20kg backing plates on toe strap.
It’s a shame but no way could I contemplate a newer OK now and for all but special events in Thailand where I sail my 16 year old OK, I am becoming Laser sailor (a boat I always said in the past I would never sail)
