Colin, great idea but timing wrong. Maureen and I set off for the Worlds on the 18th July. The only weekend after Weymouth for me, is the 16th and 17th and I will be sorting things out for my travels. (That does not mean somebody else could not plan it in) I would normally have agreed and we do need to try add another in but it would be a bit hard for me to make it all happen In this time scale. I will say your idea of location is perfect and we should make sure this training happens here. It may have to be next year now. Ideally we need an open meeting there (Nick Logan) and leave our boats with a training session the following weekend.
That way we could do the Brightlingsea thing again then Rutland. This would be perfect. My opinion is they need adding to the calendar/fixture programme. Ken.
I think we have to look very carefully at our programme for next year, (May, June,) if we have boats going to Barbados there could be a reduced number of entrants at meetings around this time. My own feelings are depending on the number who attend Barbados if we cannot put forward a decent entry we should avoid holding open meetings in this time slot. Better to try plan them in later with decent entry than half a showing, it would do the class NO good at all. So we may have plenty of time to plan some worthwhile training in next year. We should know quite early how many are likely to take up the Worlds space so this will help with any Fixture list planning.
