Final update.
The hull has been measured and I am happy to say that she will be an ‘OK’. The building fee has been paid and the sail number issued. (Sail number 2190).
Everything seems to take a long time and the recent cold snap has stopped me doing the final painting varnishing and fit out but they are forecasting warmer weather this week.
I must thank Tim Oleary and Dave Bourne for spending a very cold Saturday doing the measure and also to Simon at Synergy Marine, for the loan of his workshop as a place to do the measure and also for all the help and advice he has given me regarding fittings etc.
Final Cost? The jig, with hull and decks completed, and finished with a couple of coats of epoxy came out at around £800. Add a second hand mast and sail, courtesy of Simon Cowood, a cover from my old OK, the luxury of a brand new combi trailer, about £1000 in ropes and fittings and a few other bits and pieces and we are up to a launch cost of around £4500. and that’s not counting a few expensive errors on my part, like turning on my grinder without realising that the mainsheet track was leaning against it……
Launch date? Soon. March 11th at Alton? Might follow the fleet round if I can get the final measure done.
