Well it’s Day 1 proper today.
Good luck to all the UK team in Barbados. Having seen the photos and read Robert’s excellent reports I’ve got to say what the hell am I doing in Blighty!
Every respect to Chris Turner for winning the Practice Race. No mean feat in that company in what I think is his first open meeting!
Hope it all goes well for the team and ‘Bring it on’.27th May 2017 at 8:04pm #17598

Cheer up Burt, you get to go to Herne Bay in September!27th May 2017 at 10:38pm #1760728th May 2017 at 7:24am #17608
I can understand your frustration Burt. I am sure that are many others thinking the same as you.
I am sure the event will be well remembered, it certainly looks good.
But it is a great shame that in 2016 we had over 120 boats in France and of those 10 or 12 were from down under. That means that 100 plus other sailors were Europeans. This year in Barbados only 40 boats are from Europe. I think the entry of 79 will in reality be a slight disappointment to OKDIA who originally thought it would be a sell out. However that said I am sure those who have attended will have had a good time. I would expect that with the Europeans in Denmark in the same year some like yourself will be attending this event. People only have so much available cash for these events. I am sure Barbados will not be cheap.
Lets hope our GBR team keep up the results. Go team GB.

Just loving the sound of the strong current,50 degree wind shifts, and weed, Sounds like the UK without the shifts and weed.
Maybe we do comply to the events manual LOL.29th May 2017 at 9:13am #17615
