The 2019 OK British National Championship at Abersoch is now a month away and while lots of entries are already in, if you have not yet entered now is the time to send your entry in or let the Association know you are coming along. It’s a great help to know expected numbers as early as possible.
It’s promising to be a great event both on and off the water.
For those arriving on Wednesday night although the club offered to open up the bar it was easier to postpone their hospitality and meet up at the Vaynol Pub in Abersoch. See you in there.
If you need to drop off boats the car park will be open.
As you approach Abersoch you will pass Abersoch Land on Sea on your right hand side. The road will then bend to the left. As you approach the Abersoch village centre there is a sharp bend to the right. Opposite that bend is the Vaynol Pub. If you continue around the bend your first left is the long driveway to the Yacht Club car park (privately run).
Vehicle access to the beach is via Golf Rd. Avoid 1.5 hours either side of high tide if you wish to drive on the beach, otherwise you’ll have to roll the trolley on to the beach.
Trailers can be left on the beach or taken back to campsites, B+B’s as you wish.
I’m hoping to arrive between 20:30 and 21:00 tomorrow night. Will probably check-in to the campsite (looking at the forecast I’m not sure the tent will survive so may sleep in the car) and drop the boat down on Thursday morning.
I say hoping because my lighting socket on the car doesn’t seem to be giving me driving lights or brake lights, and both my trailer tyres are perished ?
