Semi-serious question. For those of us that cannot make the 60th celebrations at Burghfield for whatever reason, can we enter the raffle if we pay the fee anyway? – we can get the wine/dessert later

My understanding is the sponsored ‘prizes’ are on the meal ticket number not a raffle ticket bought at the venue. This would allow all members to ‘donate’ and still be in with a shot of winning the prizes even if the they couldn’t be at the event.

Mary has confirmed … if you can’t come to 60th birthday bash if you buy a ticket you will still be in the draw for the prizes.

      Greetings all,

If anyone needs floorspace or sofabed, you are most welcome to stay at ours – we’re about 25mins from Burghfield

      Cheers

      Hi all,

Firstly just like to confirm that anyone who purchase’s a ticket for the 60th will be issued with a number, and that number goes into a draw on the night, with the opportunity of winning any of the prizes up for grabs.

Any person who has purchased a ticket, but is unable to make the event, but will be at the nationals. I’m sure we will be able to save you some dessert, and if you are extremely lucky maybe a bottle of wine…….

If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, now is the time to do so? Numbers are filling up fast. There is a limit to the number of people we can accommodate on the night, so if you don’t want to miss out, order yours from Mary now!

Anyone wishing to camp or campervan, please let Mary or myself know, so it can be arranged.

Also so don’t forget there is a 60th trophy race at 3.00 with a briefing at 2.00.  So please bring your boat, and also we going to need boats to loan out to past members for the all comers race.

Its going to be a grand day and a super evening, if the 50th ten years ago is anything to go by, we should be in for a treat!

See you all on the 19th August.

Can’t believe the 60th anniversary is almost upon us.

Preparations are almost complete, the wine chilled, the champagne chilled, cakes are being made.

Just checkec the weather forecast, and it’s going to be a nice day, and with some sunshine, and also to boot windguru are predicting a perfect breeze for the day, and also from the right direction straight down the lake.

So looks like it’s all set up and waiting for us!

There is still spaces available, so please let Mary know if you can make it.

You can also turn up on the day, but that may not guarantee you a ticket for the free draw, for the fabulous prizes we will be giving out in the evening.

So I suggest you contact Mary by Friday afternoon at the very latest, so you can be added to the list.

Looking forward to to a great day.

A “Grand day out” it was too, if a tad breezy for the elderly. ie me!

It was good too for a new member like myself to meet some of the “characters” of the class and also hear some of the history.

Sadly my launching trolley disintegrated on the way home from some long term corrosion which finally came to the surface!  I ended up lashing the remains to the combi base and we got home OK.

Now I cannot go sailing until I source a replacement trolley or combi – so all suggestions/recommendations welcomed!

      Hi Hugh,

If you could make contact I’m sure I an offer you an attractive price and service. I could do with detail of what your trailer base is to marry up with the measurements. I have stock and transport to the South Coast this week.

      Regards, Tony Woods.
