davecooperParticipantAgh! Live race tracking! A whole new way to waste time! Currently (first reach, race one) Alex is top Brit at 24th ish, Derek is next around 30. Nick is 40 something. Not a good day!……….. Hang on! Gybe mark! Jurgen Lindhartsson is in 2nd! Yay for oldies! Nick 44th.
Can’t watch any more of this! It’s releasing too much adrenalin.

sailor_addickParticipantDont tease me like that Dave. Where is the link??
My boss will never know what I am looking at. I could even get away with saying it some kind of technical research.
Regards

davecooperParticipantThe worlds website is http://www.okworlds2012.okjolle.dk/, and if you click on the ‘Live Tracking’ link you can watch the action in real time. It’s really stressful though. I watched Nick sneak into the lead coming up to the windward mark (second beat, Race 2) and he sets off down the run instead of doing a little tight reach to a ‘1A’ buoy that’s designed to stop boats rounding straight down the throat of anyone coming to the mark on port. By the time he’s realised his mistake, he’s back to 4th and I’m a fagpaper’s width from a coronary! Then, coming up to the finish, he’s on the righgt hand side of the course, and there’s a shift to port that lets in a couple of boats that were on the left, truly unlucky, but it raised my blood pressure another couple of notches!

Tony WoodsParticipantIt’s Thursday morning. AP is up’ forecast not looking good. Definately Largs part 2. Such a shame for the organisers, they have put such a lot of effort into the event. Other news, Burt has another hangover.
Rodney has blocked the toilet again and is threatening to try and fix it. Rodney assisted one of the Danish guys fix his mast step on Monday night. He was towed back in on Tuesday without mast!
Chris Perry keeps walking down to the other beach. We thought he was checking out signs of sea breeze. It seems he has found the Danish topless girls sunbathing. We’re joining him this afternoon if the wind doesn’t arrive.
Teddy has stopped drinking yesteday. Similar time to his Dad arriving on the scene!
Everybody is chilled and enjoying the sunshine.Regards, Tony Woods.

davecooperParticipantSorry to hear you’re all suffering so badly, Tony! Can you ask Chris to get some photos for the website, please? You know how much people enjoy photos from major events!
Maybe Teddy’s dad should grasp the nettle and actually get himself an OK. Then when he turns up to events he could actually go sailing :).
Hope the wind fills in.

andyt15064ParticipantGood to hear from you Tony. I was wondering what was wrong with my tracking!! There’s still plenty of time to sail three or even four races per day!!

ChrisBiscParticipantCan’t we put the trackers on the Helms instead of the Boats, then even when no sailing us people back home would have something to watch.
We could see then who goes to the other Beach!26th July 2012 at 4:43pm #6058
davecooperParticipantExcellent notion, Chris! We could watch Rich weaving home from the pub and getting becalmed in the gutter!

Jon FishParticipantMorning update…
No breeze again… Plenty of wind from Burt though – he’s just managed to clear out the breakfast tent with another passing….
Seems like Scoles will be first to beach – think he’s missed the point though, as he’s talking about swimming.
Someone claims they’ll be 10kts at 2pm.
