Well it is that time again. Last year we had a great turnout I hope we can repeat it this year, if not better it. The first Race day is the 26th of Oct, 2 races per day, total 18 races with 13 to count. Last race day is the 21st of Dec. Last year Si Cox organised a dinner on the last day so that might be repeated. For those of you that have not been to Alton Water check out the website and weather indicator.

Early indications are that we could have as many as 11 people enter this year. For those interested you can also leave your boat in a safe and secure compound for a small fee. Moving into 2015 the frost bite starts very early in the new year so sign up for both and sail all winter in good company and safe conditions.

I will be doing the 2015 Frostbite (Jan-Mar) again but unlikely the Winter Series as club racing at Waldringfield goes on until November. Usually its the Frostbite which is very well attended. Hopefully, a few other local boats will make it over though. I’ve heard that a few boats that didn’t come along early this year will be sailing this winter so I suspect we’ll be the biggest fleet.

SimonI think Lee Childs and Will Turner have talked about attending. Dave Bourne and Simon Davis have also said they will most likely attend again. Although Dave Bourne and Robert Deaves may be In Australia over the Dec early Jan period. I hope we can motivate others to come along (Dabchick and Brightlingsea Guys). The OK is certainly making a good showing in the East Anglia area. His RT Hon R C Grey will be there. :?:
I believe he has been working on a device to keep his Cigarettes dry this summer.

Am hoping to re-aquaint myself with the blue beauty fairly soon so will be definitely embarassing myself by the Frosbite, if not before.
My tourettes has not get any better.
On a slightly more serious note, when it comes to the Frosbite, if we can get some (lots) early entries in then we might be able to blag ourselves our own start.
R. C-GGood to hear from you Robert. I was thinking the same about our own start ? do you know who runs the event and can you have a word, find out how many we would need to justify our own start. My boat is back in the park now it will be there until the end of the frostbite. See ya soon Ken.
Just had a quick chat with AWSC and they can cope with 5 starts max. Slow, medium, laser, fast and one other, typically Fatoms. They reckon if we get at least 8 series entries before it starts then we might get our own start. I know that I’ll be at the London boat show for the 10th and 18th but will enter the whole series before it starts to bolster it!

CheersWell done Robert, that would be a great advantage to the class. Nothing worse than having to start with the faster boats in a Handicap start.
I think the Frost Bite will almost certainly be over 8 starters.
If those of you thinking of entering post your intention and then Robert can inform the powers that be of our numbers. It would be a shame to miss out on this great opportunity, once established we can keep it going.Those of you who are thinking of the Winter Series this starts next week the 26th Oct and runs until the 21st of Dec 2 races per day.

Regards Ken.From conversations I’ve had with various people I expect the following visitors will be there for most of the series – me, Dan, Wobert, John Ball. Possibles are Simon Davis, Simon Shaw, Dave Bourne, Fish and possible a couple of others if we can find boats to loan for the series. So, if the Mersea boys come over as well we’ll be in very good shape for this winter.
The important thing is to make sure that if some of us can’t make a weekend we get our boats out with others that can. If we can average 8-10 boats that would be great.
