Boat for loan/try out

Evening guys,
I’ve had a word with my kindly old benefactor and managed to persuade him to relinquish one of his boats, GBR 2155.
It’s a 2013 Aardvark hull, ply decked, that’s down to weight and will come with an Aardvark hi-mod mast to suit 80-85kg, and probably a P&B sail, maybe a HD.
My plan is to take it with me to all of the Grand Tour events so that anybody who wants to try out an OK, can.
What I think I’ll do is put a preview for the Grand Tour up on Yachts and Yachting at the beginning of May so that it gets a bit of national coverage in time for Brightlingsea on the 21st and see if I get any interest. Please don’t all bombard me at once, but it will be on a first come, first served basis as from the beginning of May.

The boat will come fully insured for racing but should any mishaps occur I’m happy(ish) to carry out any repairs for cost……I think!!!Great idea and very generous

It’s a great idea. The Scottish Solo fleet have a demo boat (a rebuilt boat that was written off in a storm with donations of mast, sail etc to get it ready) that gets taken to all the opens. Dozens of people must have sailed in it by now, with a good few buying boats and joining the fleet. It’s a fantastic way to get people into a class

Update:
As of today, GBR 2155 is still available for the Brightlingsea open. I do have a pre booking from Nick Logan for the training days the weekend after. The boat has been re-roped and will be available with a choice of sails, Green, Turtle or HD. If you know of anyone interested, please ask them to contact me via email by Thursday 19th, cheers
