Provoked by a pilot, we’ve started carrying smartphones and getting our GPS tracks onto google earth to see if we can learn anything.
One thing that jumps out is that I seem to change course in response to puffs upwind a lot more than one of the fast lasers. my track is “wigglier” when puffs come across the course. he keeps blasting straight through.
I’m going at the same overall pace, but wiggly. It could be a gps artefact, which i’ll also check, but just wondered if it’s a feature of the boat..or maybe i’m just steering like a loon.
thoughts?
