How many OK Sailors have moved into Olympic Classes

I was wondering how OK sailors have moved into Olympic Classes. Didn’t Mike McIntyre sail an OK in the 70’s before winning a Gold in the Star class in Seoul in 1988? I would like to know how many Finn Lasers or even Laser sailors have started off in an OK?

My be we should have a “Hall of Fame” on the website showing who which OK Sailors have suceeded in Olympic, International or National Classes?

Go to the OKDIA website. This lists the past explots of lots of OK sailors who have sailed at the Olympics e.g. Jorgen Lindhartson (DEN) , Mike McIntyre (GBR), Raudaschl (Austria), Mattheus Krus***** (Finn Gold medal winner for Poland).

Perhaps we could also look at the number of olympic sailors that moved in to the OK class? Probably not too many, but it should be an ideal “afterwards” class for many sailors, no?

Perhaps not the uber medallists that mostly go pro, but for the rest. Just a thought.

Good Idea. I think some World Champions from other dinghy classes have also moved into the OK.
