How to protect your rudder when it's in the cockpit?

So I’ve been doing a bit of work on 2071 over the winter, including a new set of top and bottom mast chocks, and repairing some minor damage on the rudder.
One question has arisen though. How are you guys protecting the trailing edge of your rudders when you launch and recover? Or is it a good reason to have Pro grip on the side decks?
