Medemblik or Bandol or both

have you seen the dates for the spring cup and Med championship – they are 27-29 April and 10-12 May respectively.

now here is a conundrum……. do you  Enjoy the delights of the Brakboer and the short chop of the IJsselmeer and potentially horizontal snow storms or do you head south and miss the companionship and hangovers that exist in Holland under the excuse that you are prepping yourself for the Europeans. God this is going to be a tough one that is going to require some thought over a few beers over the coming months.

It takes 12 days to get from Medemblik to Bandol so just take a leisurely trip south and save yourself a ferry fare.

tempting though It looks I think that might be a non starter from a family perspective.  In August I might have got away with the suggestion.  However, the thought that I could do a recce for September –  accomodation and preparedness to host 2 large mutts – might give me an extra day’s pink ticket……and to be honest the option of nearest damn it the n sea in April or the med in May even with the extra days travelling it is going to be a close call. Amstel in the Brakboer or 1664 in the sun……

I’m definitely doing Medemblik and I might be tempted to do both Andy if you fancy double trailing…….I’m so in credit after this year!!

way to do it is for someone to take on the Medemblik run in a double.  And then both fly back from Schipol leaving car and boats there and then for another to fly to schipol get to Medemblik and then drive down with the car /van from there with the other flying down to Marseille.  The one who drives down flies back.

food for thought! No decisions are however binding in the pub or sailing club bar this weekend.

Now there’s has to be a way that we can juggle Squeezy jet flights with triple and double trailers to make sure that those that want to head south  and those that want to do both can share driving etc and make the double doable.

Looks like the old goat has had a rush of blood (or was that Cabernet) to the brain, but has booked accommodation for Medemblik, Brixham and Bandol for the Europeans.  I blame my wife who said something along the lines of you ain’t getting any younger so bugger off and enjoy it before you are too old to do so.

Here’s wishing everyone an great new year and see you on the circuit (not until March I am afraid as the water is bloody cold right now)!
