My first race in my new ok

First real racing experience of racing an ok today, i came second in the frosbite series one, great boat to sail and i enjoyed it loads. Couple of things i need to change straight away , one is the bloody horrible kicking system and secondly a new shiney mainsheet as he on i have is thicker then my arm, and stops (in the light stuf) the sail going fully out on a run.

All in all though i loved sailing the ok and even beat a Boss on th water!!!!

What club are you sailing at, by the way?
We don’t have too many OK’s in the West Country but its not a long commute from some of the midlands or Thames Valley clubs – so perhaps you could get together with some of our regulars at some stage.

I sail at Tewekesbury Sailing club in gloucestershire, midlands clubs are only up the M5 from me, i might look at doing a few events next year, i will convert the boat to overdeck controls over the winter, and i’m on the look out for a better sail. It may be that i buy a new sail though in the new year, im undecided yet though. I might evenn go the carbon root as my merlin rocket and phantom routes keep nigling at the back of my mind
