New (ish!!!) boat

The goat ignored the advice of Andy Rushworth who said…… if you go and see Mike Edwards’ boat you will buy it …….. and I went up to Shropshire today and lo and behold have 2126 sitting in my drive. However, unlike my road bikes where the right number of bikes is always assumed to be n+1 (where n is the current number of bikes you currently own) I am afraid I have been informed that this can’t apply for OK’s. Thus will be putting the aged but very pretty 1759 up for sale in the next couple of weeks. Although one can go all misty eyed about selling the ship, my wife neatly summed it all up by saying that current boat is beautiful but what I need at my age is a “bump and go”boat. I said a robust epoxy build and she said nah ……..a Bump and Go.
Now be very careful with your responses to that statement as this is a public forum! I have also promised Mike that I will love the new boat as I have the old one.
Will take the new boat to Sunderland, and if Colin can convince a few compadres to turn up at Snettisham in August could be tempted to run the tides in Norfolk. Otherwise a shake down in Chichester harbour should work.

my most humble apologies. Put the lack of a call down to leaving home at 6.00am and still getting snarled up in the traffic on the M6 round Birmingham. Obviously the Midlands’ M25!!
will message you re my plans as regards reducing the number of spare parts that I now have in various garages. Have been told that I have until Xmas to…….
hope all is well and that the refurb is nearly done. Will we see you at Sunderland? A mere hop skip and jump across thePennines, I think, and surely now that the hockey season is well and truly over there must be few excuses left.

I’ll forgive you. The M6/M42 is a ‘mare most of the time.
Boat back on the water but a mixed bag of results on Sundays, particularly when it’s light.
If I’ve recovered physically and emotionally from a Bank Holiday weekend hockey tour to the Netherlands I intend to be at Sunderland, but I’m also hoping to get to Burghfield too.

As for the boat Had been talking to Rover about upgrades who waxed lyrical about Mike’s boat…..after all it is a Rushworth. Went north, saw it and said yes. Now have to flog the pretty darling I currently own, not to mention a combi trailer, mast and sail and have been given an Xmas deadline.
You must be just about at the magic day. Hope it goes really well and that you enjoy it. As for September, the change in the National dates clashed with a long booked cycling holiday in September so won’t get to Brightlingsea either which is why I am heading north as the Northerns are on the sea and I remember from my daughter’s topper days that Sunderland is very welcoming. Colin the retired web master is doing n Norfolk week so i might try to do one day and there is Chichester harbour fed week to do, even if I will be the sole OK. At least I will learn something about the new ship, or that I should have stayed with the old one.
Ken is threatening to do Ardleigh in October and I have Northampton in the diary but it is too depressing to think about the autumn especially as it is chucking it down as I type.
