      Hi everyone,
For a while I’ve felt the lack of a webpage that showed where ok sailors and their clubs are, so I’ve set up a couple of pages based on google maps, https://www.okdinghy.co.uk/where/okmap3.php (clubs) and https://www.okdinghy.co.uk/where/okmap2.php (sailors). What’s required from you guys is to get along there and fill in your details, please.
I’ve filled in a bunch of clubs, but if yours isn’t on there, please add it on. The only sailor on there right now is me!
I expect that the way the data gets displayed is probably going to evolve a bit. Writing stuff for google maps is in Javascript, so I’ve been on a bit of a learning curve! Any suggestions gratefully received, anyone hits any snags, please email.
Also, this data is going to go out of date, so I guess everyone’ll need to re-enter their data every year or two to keep it more or less in touch with reality.
See you all on Sat at the Winters!
      Cheers
      Dave

Great feature Dave! I reckon we need a global map on the OKIDA site…

Whoa! Who is 2062? Why is he at sea off West Africa?

      Hi Dave
      Thats me
I don’t think your new toy cannot cope with an Isle Of Man Postcode.
Given the temperature over here at the moment I can only wish that we were off the coast of West Africa.
The US Government government thinks we are a Load of Rogues and Pirates already without being put down in Africa.
      Cheers

Well, it turns out that the IOM is pretty well Terra Nova Incognita for most online mapping systems! Yogi got mapped at 0.0N, 0.0E (is there a name for that?) and he probably won’t be the last!
      Dave

(later) Yup, turns out Yogi was sharing that location with the Worser Bay Boat Club and the Royal Varuna Yacht Club. They are both back ashore now, though.
