Hello again= can someone clarify please the interpretation of the rule about the top of the mast not moving more than 100mm bla bla . – surely everyone’s mast moves that much if you rake it /step it =move a chock – or does it just mean ‘slop’ ? The rule actually says ‘shall not change’ – I mean that means I can’t change it by more than that .I would imagine 10mm at the heel would be about 300mm at the tip
Robbo. The rule is intended to stop the use of ‘off centre’ bearing rings. Look at it like this…..with the mast in the fore and aft position if you have say for example 1cm between the back of the mast and the back of the ring and 3 cm between the front of the mast and the front of the ring then the mast will stand further upright when rotated 90 degrees. The rule is to discourage this. Hope this helps.
