come and join us at Tynemouth Sailing club, revel in the finest sailing waters in the North East. Racing on Wednesday nights and sunday afternoons. We have no OK’s (as yet) but thriving racing in a multitude of classes in the handicap fleet, plus class racing for Ents, & Lasers.
The majority of racing is in the mouth of the Tyne with some protection from the harbour walls, but whenever the weather is right we head out to sea. Pods of porpoises and seals are often seen joining in with racing.
Season starts March
I am looking at single handers for next season since my crew went to Uni’ and OK is top of my list.
if you decide on an OK …. have I got the boat for you. Idol composites with wood veneer deck (very pretty but maintenance free) Hardly used in last 10 years. Immaculate lives in a garage. Comfy side decks (new last year as I tried to make it comfy for the old soul) and state of the art rig (ceilidh new mould and HD radial hardly used with 2nd excellent condition sail). Will pop it on the website in the next few days. Selling because the 60 year old left knee can handle skiing once a year but not skiing and an OK Nationals. Did manage a race win in the 2018 northerns with this old boy hanging on to the extension (before anyone says anything …. yes Tony woods was over the line at the start… but hey you take what you can get)
