Side decks

I was wondering does anyone no how to make rolled side decks like on Richards boat 1774. My side decks have become quite rodden and soft and are made out of three mill so there is no strenghth in them. cheers

you really really really dont want my side decks. they are very comfy in lightwinds but when it comes to hiking they are a nightmare to be honest they give me back problems but i will ask tony t he did them.
Rich. I can imagine they would be useless with hicking shorts but for an oldish stager like me they suited well. I guess the reason why modern builds just have flat sidedecks is because said shorts are so good.
Seriously Ben I should go the modern way but if you want the rolled version use either 3 or 4mm ply with stanley knife cuts in the underside or flexible ply. In both cases I would recommend glass sheathing and at least three former knees to give them the shape and support. The ones on 1774 certainly weren’t strong enough in the first instance as they were made from flexible ply and not sheathed.
The main reason Rich suggests they are good in light winds is that they scoop no water even in an extreme roll tack being built max height and width.
