PaaalParticipantwould anyone want to renovate some or one Ok’s in exchange for a good carbon rig to suit upto 75kg, feel it’s about time got back on water.
2024 – underdeck controls, wooden need painting decks, with grb hull, metal rig and sails, arm kicker, boom blocks, lifting rudder.
1644 – wooden curved odnell prototype curved stern, good planing, Milanes centreboard in two pieces, decks removed, requiring filler/rot test, overhaul needed. metal rig, arm kicker boom, some blocks, old sail, missing rudder but spare rudder without stock.
1436 – now training boat old Blossoms grp hull that has since been grp decked, does need a strut re-glassing, and very tatty, some overdeck controls. metal rig and old sail, suspicious looking homemade rudder and iffy looking centreboard.
All were working been raced in recent last 5 years, well maybe longer. two could be nice again.
1644 is dry stored, 2024 has a cover on it, trolleys that came with have long fallen apart.
unsure if any additional masts, 2024 came with a number of well raced sails.
was offered same as advertised to let the boatbreaker take away, and did want to see them race again, well at least 2 of them.
feel at least 2 of the OK’s i’ve owned have made it back to racing spec, not by my hand, yet to even sort varnish on 2018 let alone put it on water.
Robbo might be lending me a hull, he doesn’t know it yet,
Think i’m pushing my luck if try and offload any more wrecks onto AJ or Robbo.
Hoping to bring 2018 to northerns, but need to look under it’s cover and see how bad it is.
can anyone take on or point in direction of those that may not want to break. boats are currently causing offense to residence of a little hamlet in Oxfordshire.
reasons came off water – 1436 it’s a tub, but yeah it’s ok as a training boat, well maybe not for lead boat in piggy in the middle, 1644 centreboard washer went and inside tanks were prerished. 2024 as an enthusiastic lad named Alex from BCYC had tried to make an overdeck setup with noo backing plates. small bump on nose and foregunnel.
cheers

ekethumpParticipantI looked at 2024 some years ago near Milton Keynes, it had been stripped for varnish or paint. Turned out to be the chap I had sold my old OK 1827 to a couple of years earlier, which he scrapped instead of refurbishing. At the time I was too tight to pay his asking price and abstained but I think a lot of his spare parts came from my old boat. Hopefully 2024 can be resurrected again and make someone a good starter boat.
