Notice of Race
South Staffs Sailing Club OK Open Meeting will be on Sunday 17th October 2010.
The first Race will be at 11.00am, followed by lunch and two more races in the afternoon. The afternoon start times are at the OODs discretion, probably about 1:15pm and last race following straight on from race 2.
We will have tea and cakes after the last race.
RULES
1.1) Races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2) The prescriptions of the RYA and South Staffs SC will apply.
1.3) Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times when on the water.2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1) The regatta is open to boats of the ok class.
2.2) The following restrictions on the number of boats apply: 50.3 FEES
Entry fee of £8 per boat – includes drinks at the galley. Lunch to be booked at the galley at time of registration.
Registaration will open at 09:00hrs on Sunday morning with a briefing at 10:00hrs for competitors.4 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The event sailing instructions will be available at the time of entry.5 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be decided on the day.6 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.7 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000 per event or the equivalent.8 FURTHER INFORMATION

Notes:
If anyone wants to come on Saturday, we will try to arrange some practice for OK sailors in the morning and there will be two class racing starts in the afternoon, first one at 14:00hrs; visitors are very welcome to come and join in.
Special request from the OOD – can Nick Craig (and Neil) please bring their glasses so they can read the course numbers on the committee boat!
