tony thresherParticipantHi all,
Olly Burrows aged 15 from WOSC snapped his rudder beyond repair last Sunday in some pretty extreme conditions. His Dad is trying to put it back together with a combination of epoxt and chair legs for this Sunday at the Club but this will not be satisfactory for Weymouth or the Nationals which Olly is going to. So, has any one got a good rudder they could lend/sell him?
Thanks
Tony Thresher

AnthonyParticipantHi Tony
I have a spare rudder Olly is welcome to use, only snag is it doesn’t have any fittings but if he can use his existing ones he will be good to go.
I will bring it down at the weekend.
Anthony.

While I am on – we have a young penniless lad who has just got an old OK and needs a sail – something serviceable to put up a needlespar – don’t know what sort. Anyone got anything spare?

Chris PerryParticipantHi Bill
I have an old ( 2001) North sail that is serviceable, the window has repair tape over a bit of a crack but its basically sound and has some life left in it.
I suspect given its vintage it was cut for a metal mast so could fit nicley.
Happy to let a keen youngster have it,
Let me know and we can try and sort out getting to him,
I can take it to weymouth if that helps
Cheers

Bill BParticipantThanks Chris,
How can I contact you to arrange something, I am not going to Weymouth I’m afraid – but if you come down the M6 you go right past our club. The lad who wants it has been borrowing boats and he has “acquired” an old boat. He’s a good man and does a lot of work at the club helping with rescue boats, kids and “On Board”.

Mike EdwardsParticipantHi Bill,
I have a P&B he could have with pleasure. It’s in pretty decent condition and still has a crackle. I have just had a look at it and compared it to my newer one and it is smaller which will suit him. It came with the rig I bought from Jon Meadowcroft, but I think it may well have been cut for a needlespar. Anyway, you can try it and see.
Kath is returning our neice and nephew to my sister tomorrow morning and they are meeting at South Staffs to make the exchange at approx 11.30am. She will bring it with her.
I’ll call you to discuss
Cheers
