responding to the well observed comment in the Filey report. ( which incidentally was a great relaxed trip to the seaside which had everything- beautiful venue-great friendly club-even had to be towed off the beach in my van towing my boat but the kind man unhitched me right outside the chip shop soo welll I was out the van anyway and England were playing footy on the radio)
Returning to the topic -it’s something I’ve always naturally done but these days it’s the only way I can sail in light weather as if I’m not sitting out when I have to sit right in My arthritis in my neck is so bad I can’t see the sail! so I have to stand and bend my lower back to look up. Similarly I sail starboard reaches cross handed because I can’t use my right hand in anger with mainsheet for the same reason so I steer with my right hand and sheet with my left. Anno Domini will hunt you all down in the end ha ha .. So No my sidedecks wern’t too hot and I wasn’t even wearing a wet suit though a pair of bicycle clips would be handy when we’re sailing two races back to back-Really looking forward to the nationals at Brixham-If you havn’t entered yet DO IT NOW!!
