TERRY CURTIS WINS OSPREY NATIONALS

Pleased to report that Terry has won the Osprey Nationals in Poole this week. Going into the last day day he was third overall and fighting the results of the first two placed boats looked a tall order in the forecast light winds. However Terry got stuck in and took two bullets in very tight racing. So well done our Terry. Terry made it very clear his results were greatly helped by the hard work Jim Hunt of HD Sails had put into the development of his sails.
So a proud day for the guys. Well done from the OK fleet.
David and myself did not fare so well having borrowed a boat which on the surface looked ok’ish but did not quite have the pace and we certainly struggled in the lighter breeze. It must be said though we did manage 1 top 10 result only find we were OCS.
Well in fact that was the second OCS but we managed to return on the first. 38 entries and I think we managed 23 overall.
Dave Rose kindly sent us a text informing us the Osprey foredeck was much longer than the OK therefore we needed to start further behind the line. Cheers Dave.
It was a fantastic weeks sailing and Poole hosted a great Championships. For myself it was great to sail the big ship again after a 12 year layoff.
