Hi guys, I’ve been updating the travellers trophy results so far, and I ‘ve got a couple of queries:

1. We usually include the Waldringfield Easter Egg, but I don’t have any results for it. Did it actually happen this year? anyone remember what the result was?

2. What do we do about the nationals? Include all the non-GBR sailors? Exclude the non-GBR sailors, but leave the results as they are? Exclude all the non-GBR sailors and re-work the results to take out their data?

sureky all the non gbr boats are all travelers as well!!

Good point! After all, we wouldn’t mind, say, a FRA or BEL sailor turning up to all our events, so I guess they all go in, unless anyone else thinks otherwise?

Yes, the Easter Egg took place, it was quite good as I recall and a bit overly exciting on the very small courses they set with 50+ boats on the water.

We would really like to have a lot of visitors for the Cartoon Trophy Open Meeting the day after Ardleigh as well. Its been a great double header for the last few years.

I keep a track of the results on a spreadsheet for the travellers too – I did in fact e-mail this about a month ago – guess you never received it then!

As for the nationals issue, another point is if we remove the non-GBR boats we may well skew the results so GBR boat may move up or down a position if we remove all non GBR boats….. see example below – GBR B would beat GBR A if we include all boats but not if we don’t.

So we are best keeping them all in.

Oo-er, Ant, I think you just blinded me with science! I’ll just use the results as they are, then, shall I?

PS I think I accidentally junked some emails when I was on holiday – for some reason, my usual email client wouldn’t work and I was using a webmail front end. If you’re keeping a spreadsheet, how about emailing me a copy after events? Save me a ton of work because I can go straight(ish) from .xls to online .xml.
