Trophies

It is with increasing frustration that I am posting this note!

This is a note to everyone! If you have won a trophy, it is your responsibility to ensure that it is returned, clean and engraved for the following years event.

Firstly, failure to return a trophy results in extra work for the committee. But most importantly, the person who then wins that event doe’s not have the pleasure of having the trophy presented to them to take home to show their friends and family. If a trophy has not been engraved, this has to be sorted out and returning a trophy that has not been cleaned is pretty lazy to say the least. If you can’t make the event, make sure you pass it onto someone who is going. Again, this is your responsibility.

I am sure you would be pretty pxssed off if you found yourself winning an event only to discover that the trophy is somewhere else in the country, with little hope of it ever getting to you.

The OK Class has a large a wonderful array of trophies, many have been kindly donated over the years and others have been purchased by the class association. To have to replace any of them would be a real shame and to have to raise the money to replace any would be difficult. So please look after them.

I really don’t want to have to say this, but from now on if you are known offender i.e. have a track record of none return, or returning a trophy that has not been engraved and in poor condition, the committee may well take the decision not to let you take a throphy home. It will remain with the committee, or should I say a committee member that can be trusted!
