Hi Everyone.
I think we should postpone the Winter Champs this Saturday.
Thames Water have closed the reserviour today (as well as on Monday) because of the weather and the forecast is for more snow here tomorrow followed by sub zero temperatures on Saturday, which for a start will not make sailing much fun and driving to Oxford pretty treacherous. (the roads have been pretty dicey here for the last few days)
I think its best to postpone now and rearrange, hopefully for either next weekend or the 21st when more people will hopefully be able to make it.

i think the 21st would be a safe bet as it is not valintines day brownie points guys and plus i can make the 21st aswell ha
just to check that that is a decision rather than a ‘i think’

Yes it is a decision. I will confirm the rescheduled date as soon as possible.
I see the Tiger Trophy at Rutland is also in doubt.

An as aside, the longer you postpone, the more chance Nick has of getting his boat in time, so Neil’s idea is a pretty good one…!

Since we’ve all turned gay, I think we should re-sched. to Feb 14 and enjoy each others companies in the showers
These are all normal feelings you are going through Nick, prior to loosing your independence! However, I do not think you will get many takers for your shower offer! I don’t even think Karsten would lower his standards that far!!

Mike i would take up nicks offer in the shower than have to stand at the bar near you haha mind you he would be a bit worse for ware the next day so for health and safety i think i will keep myself to myself in the changing rooms

(excuse the pun)The longer the postponement the better in my book. It may give me time to work out what was broken on the boat before I put it away last year and maybe even fix it. Very, very unlikely but I try to be optimistic.
It would also improve my chances of actually being aloud to go. I have tried Terrys approach to fatherhood “right then, now you are back from hospital I’m off sailing, see you whenever” but I don’t seem to be able to get away with it.
With regard to Nick and the shower, Mike is this the moment that you have been waiting for? None of us have any idea why you need to spend 4 hours in the shower after sailing, we thought it was maybe just that it took that long to wash your big belly, but perhaps you have just been waiting for Nick?

Clearly being a father is testing your image of being ‘Mr Nice Guy’. However, I have been there and done it (twice), so if you need to let off a bit of steam then by all means, take it out on me mate! You need to put your foot down you big girl! Ask Terry for some training, as he is the expert!
Anyway, I am sure it seems like 4 hrs compared to the rest of you! You lot seem to think that splashing half a cup of water over you without the use of any form of soap equates to having a shower. Some of you don’t even manage that!! God knows how any of you managed to persuade any woman to go near you, let alone have your children.
