Not quite on the same scale as the Ardleigh winter series since there’ll only be 2 OKs involved, but it’s probably the first time in a couple of decades that there’ll be more than one OK on the water in Ireland at the same time.
The DMYC frostbites have been running for 40+ years.

One OK Dinghy raced. The other went out for a practice session.

A rainy Sunday in Dublin, but unlike the UK we didn’t have a lot of wind. Probably a good thing, on balance.
The OKs are still making their presence felt in Dun Laoghaire over the winter. The Milky Bar Kid has now won four of the six winter races so far, and 2nd in the other two. Beastie is getting out every Sunday to wow the harbour with a display of mahogany the like of which it hasn’t seen in a while.

Major improvement on starting and tacks/gybes are still needed. Plus of course speed. Always more speed.
After a couple of less successful weekends and the intervening Xmas break, the OK Dinghy fleet in Dun Laoghaire is back to winning ways.

A coaching session the previous week saw both Dublin based boats struggling with VERY puffy and strong conditions but still managing to get quite a bit of value from the instruction.
