Worlds 2011

Mr Gibb tells me the worlds are coming to Scotland [Largs] in 2011?

There are no OK’s – to my knowledge – being raced in Scotland at the moment. I sail at Helensburgh where there was a good fleet in the past, Mike, Jonny & Pete McIntyre, Alan Jeffrey to name a few. Are there any plans to try and kick start the class north of the border ??

Hi Graeme
Thats right they are coming to Scotland.
Robbie Wilson and I went to this years nationals at Dabchicks and the boys in the OK fleet laid out the red carpet for us to try and entice us to join there fleet with the view to the worlds in Scotland.
I am still interested but Robbie is not, so if you were up for getting one let me know and I will look at my options again, they have kind of been put on the back boiler since Rob was not keen on the project.
We could do with a few boys getting them to train up here to make it worth while other wise its a non starter for me. My Solo will take prefrence over this but you know me two three boat charlie.
Let me know if you are going to take this further.
It would be good to get some thing happening for the worlds in 2011.

It would be great to get the class kick started in Scotland again. There has been some interest in getting things going, but it needs a couple of people to committ to buying boats.
There are some boats on the list right now which would get the ball rolling. Sounds like you & Kev could make it happen.

Hope you go for it, the OK is a very rewarding boat to sail and the international racing is top quality.

I’m sure a few of us will be up for doing some training in Largs in 2011 and it would make sense to get an open up the near future. So you should have a few more of us to race/train with on ocassion…
