River Sailing at its best !
If you’re not off the Barbados, and fancy some competitive OK sailing over the Whit Bank Holiday, why not join the UTSC OK fleet sailing on the river at Upper Thames Sailing Club?
Bourne End Week is the club’s annual regatta that has been running for over 100 years and this year offers OK sailors 2 class races on each of four days, Saturday 28 to Tuesday 30 May, for the Yeatman trophy (and a general handicap race for the Burnham Bowl on Wednesday morning).
In addition to OK class racing, on Monday afternoon you will be able to watch the magnificent Thames A Raters race for the top trophy in their national championships, the Queens Cup (presented to the club by Queen Victoria in 1893), with bubbles and berries on the lawn for spectators.
There is a full social programme including a hog roast on Saturday and a Party Night on Sunday with cocktails, food and entertainment in the riverside marquee. Daily catering and bar facilities will be available throughout the regatta. There is a wide range of facilities within walking distance, and there are many local attractions for non-sailors in Marlow and the surrounding area.
The entry fee for an OK for the week is £44, but this is discounted to £37 for entries received by 21 May. Camping is available right next to the club at £15 for the week.
